Commentary
An FM/AM tuner that digital synthesizer of quartz PLL system.
The front end section consists of a junction FET RF amplifier stage with 3-row twin varactors, a local output with FET buffer, and a bipolar mixer.
The IF stage consists of two high-selectivity two resonance ceramic filters, one stage of discrete IF amplification, three stages of differential amplification, quadrature detection, signal meter OUT, circuit for DC detection, MUTE circuit, etc.
The T-500 uses a dedicated IC for the IF stage.
The MPX stage employs a PLL switching IC and LPF dedicated to MPX.
The AM tuner section employs a double-row single varactor, an untuned high-gain RF cascode amplifier stage, a double-balanced differential mixer, an IF stage using an IF tuning coil and a high-selectivity ceramic filter, and a high-Q loop antenna resistant to electric field noise.
Equipped with preset station functions for 5 AM/FM stations.
Auto tuning and manual tuning are possible.
Equipped with the last channel memory function.
Equipped with a 3-point signal level indicator.
