Commentary
A 3-way speaker system that follows high-level technologies and is compatible with high speed digital sources and high dynamic range.
A 27 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm uses pure carbon cone woven with long-fiber carbon. The magnetic circuit uses a 120 φ x15tmm magnet with a total magnetic flux of 126,000 Maxwell.
A 6 cm dome type skoker is installed in the middle area.
An ion-plated amorphous diamond diaphragm is used for the diaphragm, and for the first time in this class, a pure dome shape closest to a semicircle has been realized.
The magnetic circuit uses a 100 φ x15tmm magnet with a total flux of 56,000 Maxwell, and the voice coil uses a voice coil made of metal duralumin bobbin with excellent thermal conductivity.
A back cavity is used at the back of the unit to suppress unwanted resonance and eliminate the influence from the woofer unit.
A 3-cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
It uses the ion-plated amorphous diamond diaphragm used in the NS 700 x monitor. This diaphragm is produced by bombarding carbon atoms on the titanium surface with a high-voltage accelerated ion gun using Yamaha LSI technology, and has acquired excellent characteristics.
In addition, by using a diffuser, a natural and extended high sound is realized over a wide range.
A radial balanced power supply system has been adopted for the network. Each unit has an independent network, which is arranged radially and equidistant to each other. This makes it less susceptible to magnetic interference and mechanical vibration between the networks and between capacitors.
For each part, silicon-steel core, ferrite core, OFC (oxygen-free copper) magnet wire, plain foil, BP capacitor, etc. are used.
To improve the directional characteristics of the enclosure, a unit inline center arrangement is adopted in which a woofer, a squaker, and a tweeter are arranged in a vertical line.
In addition, a round baffle is used to prevent unnecessary diffraction at the cabinet edge.
