A digital soundfield processor developed to reproduce the distinctive sounds of concert halls and opera house.

In order to analyze sound fields such as actual halls, Yamaha DSP has introduced a four point sound collection method developed by the Sound Laboratory of Waseda University through joint research with the laboratory, and succeeded in capturing characteristics such as delay time, level and direction of reflected sound in sound field space as effective data.
Omni Sound uses these data to faithfully reproduce reflected sound from all directions in the listening room.

The DSP LSI (YM3804) digital signal processor originally developed by Yamaha is used as the key device of OMNI SOUND.
Normally, one delay unit can process only one reflected sound, but with the DSP 3000, three DSP LSI's can process the delay time, level and direction of up to 22 reflected sounds per channel, for a total of 88 reflected sounds.

In addition to the 512 kbit ROM, the DSP 3000 has 4.6 mbit memory by 18 D - RAMx of 256 kbit.

The program of the DSP-1 is left as it is, and 20 sound field programs are installed by adding newly measured sound field data measured at famous performance venues in Europe and America (refer to the remarks column of the model rating).

The A/D converter is equipped with an independent left / right twin A/D converter with a sampling frequency of 48 kHz.
In addition, it uses the 4-bit dither used for PCM recording of CD, etc., and reduces quantization noise and 0 cross distortion generated during A/D conversion.

Equipped with a digital direct in that can receive digital signals such as CD/DAT/DBS and perform direct DSP processing. The sampling frequency automatically follows 3 modes of 32kHz/44.1kHz/48kHz.
The D/A converter is equipped with a 4 fsx18-bit DF + 18-bit twin DAC for the main signal and a 4 fsx18-bit DF + 16-bit DAC for the presence. Yamaha Hi-bit system is installed.

If the analog input is at a low level, the A/D converter will not be fully differential, resulting in low fidelity and S/N.
In order to cope with this problem, a bit monitor is mounted. By indicating the operation status of the A/D converter by the number of bits, accurate input level adjustment can be easily performed and more faithful A/D conversion is possible.

The power supply section uses a large transformer with a shield cover filled with a filler. The analog section, digital section, and video section are independent power supplies separated from the winding, and the analog section and digital section are independent circuit configurations with separate boards, so that mutual interference can be prevented.

The parts are made of quality parts carefully selected for audio.

The master volume controller uses a high-precision 6-channel volume to adjust the overall system volume without losing the balance between the main signal and the presence signal.
It can also be operated with a remote control by adopting a motor drive system.

It is equipped with an on-screen monitor function through the video input / output connector, and the current operation mode can be imposed on the monitor screen.

A test key with a built-in tone generator is used to balance the presence speakers.

It comes with a 41-key full-mode remote control that allows you to call up preset / user programs and control all functions such as the input selector, presence balance and master volume.
