Commentary

This is a flagship model of an AV amplifier that supports DTS as well as Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic.

From mono / stereo to Dolby Pro Logic, Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, all the home sound formats of the day are supported.
Also, by using dedicated sound field data for each format, we have achieved sound field effects that take advantage of the characteristics of each format.

The processing section, which is in charge of processing sound field programs, is integrated on a single board. This board is equipped with DTS / Dolby Digital digital input terminals and A/D and D/A converters. This board is completely separated from analog signals, including the digital arithmetic section, and realizes high precision and high quality sound field processing.
The Dolby Digital Decoder is equipped with Yamaha's original 24-bit ASIC LSI YSS-249, designed with an emphasis on high-speed and high-precision processing. With 24-bit precision, high-quality Dolby Digital Playback is possible.
The yamaha YSS 214 LSI is used for sound field processing. In addition to DSP functions, the YSS 214 also includes digital equalizer functions such as cinema EQ and center GEQ.

The A/D converter uses a 128 times oversampling delta-sigma 24bitA/D converter.

An 8 x oversampling delta-sigma 24bitD/A converter is used for all channel D/A converters.
A switched capacitor filter and a continuous filter are used for the post-filter, providing excellent jitter resistance and reproducibility of very small signals.

The power amplifier section is equipped with an all-discrete 7-channel power amplifier.
The front L/R, center and rear units use power amplifiers of the same power and quality, and all achieve a maximum practical output of 150W. In addition, an amplifier with a maximum practical output of 45Wx2 is used for the Cinema DSP's unique front effect.

The power supply section is equipped with a 8.5 kg heavy weight low-impedance power transformer and a 50 mm diameter x 90 mm high block capacitor for high-quality audio.

Metal plate resistors for high-quality audio in a ceramic case, metalized ドマイラー film capacitors for copper-lead, and other parts and internal wiring materials are made with particular attention to high-quality sound reproduction.
It uses an 8-string master volume that can adjust the volume of 8 channels including LFE (subwoofer).

Equipped with a 42-position cinema DSP/HiFi DSP sound field program for a wide range of sources.
It is equipped with Sci-Fi, a sound field program that optimally expresses the latest SF-X movies. It also automatically switches between Digital Sci-Fi when playing Dolby Digital Software, 70 mm Sci-Fi when playing PCM with 2 ch input, and DTS Sci-Fi when playing DTS software.
In addition, the latest measured data from live spots in New York and monasteries in the suburbs of Paris are used, and various programs such as Party, Disco, and Game/Amusement are installed.

The input terminal supports multiple AV sources (all S connections) and audio sources.
Digital signals can be directly connected to the Coaxial/Optical jacks. These jacks automatically detect and play Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS and PCM signals. The LD input also has a built-in demodulator for direct connection to Dolby Digital (AC-3) RF signals.
In addition, an external decoder input of 6 channels is mounted.

Equipped with digital Cinema-EQ that can adjust the sound quality of front 2 ch, main L/R, center, and rear 2 ch independently.

In addition to a wide range of audio and video channels, the audio output is also equipped with a digital connector.
In addition, the SPLIT sub-woofer terminal and the Mono sub-woofer terminal are equipped to reproduce the delicate left and right direction feeling.

The front panel has a Rec out selector for smooth recording and recording without changing the connection of the rear panel.
It also has a built-in BGV function for recording images from audio sources combined with images from other AV sources.

It is equipped with an on-screen function and displays operation status such as programs and parameters, speaker level adjustment, etc.

There are 2 color variations of titanium color and gold.

Self-illuminated learning remote controller is included.
