Commentary
Pre-main amplifier equipped with Yamaha's original HCA circuit.
It was developed as a pre-main for soft dome speakers such as the NS-1classics. It is excellent in reproducing the rich atmosphere wrapped in the music and the realistic sensation, and aims at the warm and refreshing sound that softens the heart.
The power amplifier uses Yamaha's original HCA circuit that guarantees complete class A operation in the full load and power range. This circuit provides a stable drive capability that is not affected by the impedance of the speakers.
The volume controller uses an active volume that combines a variable resistor and a linear amplifier, greatly improving S/N at the level of actual use.
A thick bottom and top cover, low-resonance chimney type heat sinker, and GP legs with giant and pinpoint support are used to ensure a non-resonance design.
In addition, low-impedance signal transmission is possible by using 70 μ m copper foil substrate for power amplifier circuit board, which is twice as large as usual.
In addition to the non-magnetic copper-plated chassis that prevents interference, high-quality components such as large power transformers and high-capacity low-distortion electrolytic capacitors are used.
The DAC section is equipped with Yamaha's own high-bit system.
It has not only audio input but also Route 3 video input.
A remote control is included.
