Commentary
A compatible tape deck capable of both 4-channel playback and 2-channel recording and playback.
The 4-channel head system is an inline type and can be used for overseas 4-channel music tapes. The tape head used has excellent characteristics, and the shield system between tracks is designed in a special shape to minimize crosstalk by more than 50 dB and obtain good separation.
The equalizer section of the preamp uses a direct 3-stage NF type.
It can be connected to a general amplifier and also has a built-in Treble/Bass control amplifier. Since it is a high output type capable of obtaining up to 1 V, it can be connected directly to a power amplifier.
An idler system is adopted for the mechanism part.
It is also equipped with a device to prevent vibration of the drive motor.
Four channels of VU level meters are installed.
The 4-channel output terminal is equipped with a pin terminal that provides the same output level as a general tape deck used for component amplifiers.
It also has a 4-channel 9P connector that connects to the Victor MCSS Separate Stereo Series. For the MCSS series stereo, the volume and sound quality are controlled by the MTR-10M's built-in 4-channel preamplifier.
The 4-channel independent output adjustment volume is provided so that the balance can be adjusted even if the efficiency of the speaker used or the input sensitivity of the amplifier differs.
Equipped with an automatic stop device, the motor stops automatically after the tape is wound up.
Equipped with a 4-digit tape counter with reset button.
It comes with a reclining stand that can be installed not only vertically and horizontally but also at an oblique angle.
It also comes with a rubber roller, making it convenient to incorporate into a 4-channel series stereo.
