Zero-5
Commentary

This is the first speaker system in the Zero Series, which first put the W & D (Wide & Dynamic) concept into practice.

A 30 cm cone type woofer with newly developed alpha cone is mounted in the low range.
It uses a magnetically efficient edge wound voice coil, a voice coil ring for increasing the strength of the vibration system and reducing fo, and a special damper with good linearity.
In addition, a sturdy die-cast frame is used for the frame.

The middle area is equipped with a 10 cm compound skoker.
By repeatedly conducting computer simulations to select the required material and shape, and combining phenolic resin-impregnated Phenolix cone paper with corrosion-resistant aluminum dome diaphragm, we have achieved excellent characteristics without division vibration in the entire supported band.
The dome equalizer, large magnetic circuit, and corrosion-resistant voice coil improve directional characteristics, input resistance, and distortion factor.

The Dynaflat Ribbon Tweeter, which was completed after five years of research and development, is installed in the high-frequency range.
The flat ribbon diaphragm of the Purin Voice Coil realizes 1/4 to 1/20 of the shape and mass compared with the conventional type tweeter. In addition, the structure which gives uniform tension force to the whole diaphragm by utilizing the manufacturing technology of the precision microphone is adopted. The base film is made of polyimide resin which can withstand high temperature of 430 ℃.
The magnetic circuit is equipped with a Somel-Cobalt magnet push-pull magnetic circuit to increase efficiency and linearity. The front horn with an equalizer enables diffusion at a wide angle.

Unique materials such as metallized film capacitors, epoxy dipping coils, and oxygen-free copper wires with small twist pitches are used in the network section.

The enclosure uses a fine-tuned bass reflex cabinet.
Focusing on the internal back reflection, special internal processing such as reflector and panel is carried out to remove most of the reflection and standing wave and improve the radiation characteristics in the low frequency range.
In addition, a tweeter and a squaker with excellent directional characteristics are placed on the vertical axis, and the mounting position is adjusted in millimeters by utilizing JVC's original phase-moire transmission pattern measuring method to prevent mutual interference between units.
