SX-L9
Commentary

A speaker system developed by combining JVC's speaker technology.

A 30 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
SP pulp cone, which realizes lightweight and high rigidity, is adopted for the diaphragm, and it is compatible with large input, and the diaphragm with foamed rubber edge is adopted for the edge.
The magnetic circuit uses a long voice coil of φ 50 mm and a magnet exceeding 12,000 gauss.

The mid-range is equipped with 18 cm cone type mid-range.
A pure aluminum oblicorn diaphragm is used for the diaphragm and an of recap is used for the center cap. The resonance of the material is dispersed by the shape with the center offset. In addition, it is plated with pure gold for sound quality tuning. In addition, a foamed rubber edge is used for the edge part.
This diaphragm is supported by a unique spider suspension with excellent linearity and an aluminum die-cast frame.
The magnetic circuit is driven by a φ 50 mm edgewise wound voice coil and a 13,000 gauss ring type alnico magnet.

A 2.5 cm dome-shaped tweeter is installed in the high range.
The diaphragm is a oblidome diaphragm made of carbon graphite, which has a hardness close to that of diamond. It is plated with pure gold like the mid-range, giving it a natural sound connection with the mid-range.
This diaphragm is driven by a 15,500 gauss magnetic circuit with an internal Alnico magnet.

In the network section, we use silicon-core coils wound with oxygen-free copper wires and electrolytic capacitors made of plain foils. These parts are firmly fixed to the mounting board instead of the printed circuit board. Film capacitors and other components are directly connected by three dimensional wiring. This minimizes the deterioration of sound quality caused by unwanted vibrations.

The enclosure uses a sealed system using a pressure equalizing tube.
The conventional bass reflex method cannot avoid the effect of the resonance frequency of the port, which is different from the development intention of the SX-L9 which wants to construct the base tone with the correct pitch. In addition, the conventional sealed method produces a sound with a strong back pressure. In order to solve these problems, a pressure equalizing tube that adjusts only the DC component of the strong back pressure is used. In addition, 100% natural wool is used as the minimum necessary sound-absorbing material, so accurate and dynamic bass reproduction is achieved.
In addition, by installing a dedicated cabinet inside for the mid-range, the effect of the back pressure of the woofer is avoided, and the characteristics of the mid-range unit are maximized.
The front baffle plate is 36 mm thick with two 18mm-thick MDF attached to it for greater strength. The top plate and side plate are 30 mm thick with two 15mm-thick particleboards attached to it, the back side is 25 mm thick particleboards, and the bottom plate is 100 mm thick with two 15mm-thick particleboards, one 10mm-thick MDF, and two 30mm-thick MDF attached to it for a total of 100 mm. These plates respond to strong internal back pressure and disperse resonance to improve sound quality.
The exterior uses a White Sicmore veneer and is finished with a lustrous paint.

Speaker terminal for by-wire connection is adopted.
