Commentary
As a sister machine to the SX 311, this compact 2-way speaker system is designed to be easier to use.
Each unit uses a diaphragm made by Kurt Mueller in West Germany.
The diaphragm is made with a consistent emphasis on lightness. It produces clear resolutions and rich sound fields. In particular, it has high resolution in the case of Tsutomu Oire, so it has high reproduction power even at the level of sound you normally listen to.
A 16 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
An alnico magnet is used for the magnetic circuit to improve sound quality, and a bulb-shaped yoke provides excellent response to minute signal input.
A 3-cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
The tweeter uses a double magnet system to prevent magnetic leakage to the outside.
The cabinet has adopted a design method that combines the sound of the cabinet itself with the harmony of the speaker unit while suppressing unnecessary vibrations that muddy the sound, improving the sense of scale and expressive power of the sound field.
The cabinet is made of carefully selected high-density conifer materials with appropriate vibration damping characteristics, and is assembled using a unique high-speed and high-pressure assembly method that instantly connects all six surfaces at a high pressure of approximately 1 ton. This gives the joined surface high strength while realizing the beautiful sound of the baffle surface.
The G-line unit layout is determined by the sound intensity method in which the computer designs the optimum mounting position of each speaker unit.
In addition, the directivity is also improved by adopting the super elliptical baffle.
The sound absorbing material inside the cabinet is made of 100% wool with superior acoustic S/N.
There were two types of exterior finishes : gray finish and walnut open pore finish.
