Commentary

A quartz synthesizer type FM stereo tuner with excellent waveform transmission characteristics achieved through a thorough review of the circuit.

A pilot signal cancel circuit and a subcarrier cancel circuit are mounted.
The ST-19T uses a circuit that cancels the pilot signal to suppress the 19 kHz pilot signal to less than -65dB, and realizes excellent flat and broadband characteristics. In addition, the ST-19T has a circuit that cancels sub-carriers that are suppressed to a level that is not a problem in practical use. 9038 t also has a circuit that cancels sub-carriers that are suppressed to a level that is not a problem in practical use.

Two IF filters are used : a surface acoustic wave (SQW) filter whose group delay characteristics and amplitude characteristics can be independently selected, and a four resonance element type ceramic filter. This IF filter achieves both excellent distortion factor and selectivity.

It is equipped with a jitter distortion removal circuit to suppress the generation of unnecessary components due to the beat between the pilot signal and the modulation signal by the jitter distortion, and to improve the separation and distortion factor.

The front end section is equipped with an electronic tuning circuit equivalent to the FM5-series varicon. It is robust against interference signals with two double-tuned circuits, an RF amplifier using a 4-pole MOS FET, and a local buffer amplifier using a junction FET.

Just fine tuning by the quartz synthesizer method is used for tuning. The tuning frequency can be automatically tuned from 76 MHz to 89.9 MHz with 140 quartz-locked tuning frequency in 0.1 MHz steps by simply pressing the tuning button. The received frequency is displayed in 0.1 MHz units instead of the dial scale.
When the tuning button is pressed, the radio wave is automatically detected, and when the button is kept pressed, the tuning is continued. In addition, an auto-scanning system is adopted.

Equipped with muting with 3 positions of A, B and OFF.
In position A, stations with a stereo distortion rate of 0.2% or less can be selected automatically, while in position B, stations with a stereo distortion rate of 0.2% to 1% can be selected automatically. In position OFF, a single push of the channel selection button moves the channel in increments of 0.1 MHz. If you keep pressing the button, the system automatically scans and receives all stations.

The tuning mechanism of the ST-9038T is equipped with Last One Memory. When it is turned ON again after the switch is turned OFF, it automatically returns to the previous tuning.

Equipped with a pink noise generator convenient for FM air check and automatic high blend mechanism.

The rear panel has level-controlled output jacks, multi-path detection and 4-channel MPX jacks.

Wide range of operation is possible by combination with separately sold microcomputer programmable unit SH-9038P and quartz synthesizer / FM reception controller SH-9038R.
