Commentary

This speaker system uses a conical horn to realize a linear phase design with a bookshelf.

A 20 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
A cone made of aramid fiber is used for the diaphragm to obtain hardness, lightness, and large internal loss. In addition to the adoption of aluminum bobbin for the voice coil, the adoption of heat-resistant polyamide connecting layer and polyester insulating layer raises the heat-resistant temperature and improves input resistance.

A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
The diaphragm of this unit uses an ultra-thin 15 μ - thick titanium diaphragm to realize high frequency characteristics and wide bandwidth. In addition, by making the diaphragm thin, soft dome-like characteristics are obtained while hard dome-like characteristics are obtained, and generation of peaks is suppressed.
The titanium diaphragm itself has a heat radiation effect. In addition, it uses an aluminum bobbin with excellent heat conduction, a heat-resistant polyamide adhesive layer, and a polyester insulating layer to ensure a heat-resistant temperature of 180 ° C to 200 ° C input resistance.

The network section is designed by measuring the phase characteristics of only the unit with a delay device using a B. B. D. element developed by Technics, and is configured so that the time until the input signal is output does not differ by frequency.

The enclosure uses a linear-phase design with a front-to-back positioning of the woofer and tweeter to align the sound center in a straight line when viewed from the side, and a network that adjusts the passage time of the music signal to keep the time lag of the emitted sound wave reaching the ear constant.
In the SB-X1, the tweeter is recessed from the baffle surface using a straight (conical) horn structure and is deadened and mounted with neoprene rubber, and the woofer is positioned above the baffle.

The enclosure has a cherry wood finish and the front baffle has a matte silver metallic finish.
Also, the net is a dark brown color.
