Technics SB-M800

Commentary

A toll-boy type speaker system that supports a wide range of DVD audio.

Dual Dynamic Drive (DDD) is used for the lower range.
This system drives in phase with a Kelton-type woofer with a passive radiator facing backward, greatly reducing cabinet vibration in the low frequency range and realizing accurate low-frequency reproduction and excellent localization.
The SB-M800 combines a 14 cm drive speaker unit with an 18 cm square passive radiator. One unit is placed on the front and two units are placed on the rear to expand the area of the diaphragm and improve the low-frequency reproduction capability.

14 cm cone type mid-range is mounted in the mid-range.
This unit uses a Mica Composite ingrained Cone Diaphragm containing 40% by weight of carefully selected micas, combined with a dynamic linear suspension to improve the reproducibility of the vocal band.

A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses the super graphite diaphragm used in the SB-M10000 and SB-M1000, and is compatible with broadband sources such as DVD audio.

The network section employs an electrolytic capacitor that uses non-etching aluminum foil and OFC lead wires to improve sound quality.

By skillfully arranging the woofer and baffle parts of the enclosure, mutual interference due to vibration is reduced. In addition, MDF with less noise is used for the baffle plate and body plate, and in addition, hair transplantation is applied to the mid-range baffle to reduce disturbance of characteristics.

It uses a convex pin type net catch to reduce incidental sounds caused by cavity resonance and reflection.

It uses a gold plated speaker terminal for biwiring that can connect extra thick cords and 4 mm plugs.
