This bookshelf speaker system combines the technology and know-how of Monitor1, the highest level of TechnicHoneycomb Flat Speakers, into a three way system.

A honeycomb disk flat diaphragm is used as the diaphragm of each unit to solve the cavity effect caused by the time difference between the sound reproduced at the center and the outer periphery of the cone diaphragm.
By adopting a honeycomb structure made of aluminum alloy, the rigidity is 1,000 to 1,500 times that of paper cone.

When a flat diaphragm is vibrated in free space, a part (node) that does not move at all at a specific frequency appears. Technics uses a node drive that connects a voice coil to this part to drive, and cancels the resonance mode and further expands the piston motion range.
In addition, the Technics employs an axisymmetric honeycomb core in which nodes are perfectly circular. Unlike the rectangular diaphragm, which has a complicated resonance mode, the Technics enables an ideal node drive.

A 25 cm honeycomb planar woofer is installed in the low range.
By adopting linear damper of special structure, excellent power linearity is obtained from small input to large input. In addition, strong magnet of 145 mm diameter and 1 kg weight is adopted for magnetic circuit, and high efficiency is obtained.
In addition, high input resistance is realized by the adoption of polyimide voice coil bobbin, etc.

An 8 cm honeycomb flat skoker is mounted in the mid-range, and the unique nodal drive realizes piston motion reproduction in a wide range up to 10 kHz.
In addition, a down roll and an edge cover are used for the edge part to prevent secondary resonance of the diaphragm and realize smooth frequency characteristics.

A 2.8 cm honeycomb plane type tweeter is mounted in the high range.
The magnetic circuit uses a magnet with a magnetic flux density of 16,500 gauss, and the magnetic gap is filled with magnetic fluid to improve power linearity and high input resistance.
