Commentary

A three way speaker system in which honeycomb flat diaphragm is adopted for all units.

A honeycomb disk flat diaphragm is used as the diaphragm of each unit to solve the cavity effect caused by the time difference between the sound reproduced at the center and the outer periphery of the cone diaphragm.
By adopting a honeycomb structure made of aluminum alloy, the rigidity is 1,000 to 1,500 times that of paper cone.

When a flat diaphragm is vibrated in free space, a part (node) that does not move at all at a specific frequency appears. Technics uses a node drive that connects a voice coil to this part to drive, and cancels the resonance mode and further expands the piston motion range.
In addition, the Technics employs an axisymmetric honeycomb core in which nodes are perfectly circular. Unlike the rectangular diaphragm, which has a complicated resonance mode, the Technics enables an ideal node drive.

A 33 cm honeycomb planar woofer is installed in the low range.
By adopting a linear damper of special structure, excellent power linearity is obtained from small input to large input. In addition, by adopting large strong magnet and polyimide voice coil bobbin, efficiency and input resistance are improved.

Equipped with 8 cm honeycomb planar skoker in the middle area.
High efficiency is achieved by narrowing the air gap between the voice coil, yoke and pole piece to the limit, and input resistance is improved by making the voice coil bobbin and voice coil highly heat-resistant.

A 2.8 cm honeycomb plane type tweeter is mounted in the high range.
Laminated mica is used for the diaphragm skin material, and a 400g weight strarium magnet is adopted to obtain high efficiency.
In addition, input resistance is improved by increasing heat radiation effect.

Equipped with level control for tweeter and mid-range.

Equipped with protective circuit using thermal relay.
