Commentary
E-Series speaker system developed based on the technical know-how of SB-10000.
The SB-E200 is different from the SB-E100 in details. It has a die-cast frame on the woofer and an oil finish with real wood on the exterior.
A 30 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses a rigid kraft pulp and a simple cone paper made of linter, which increases internal loss, to reduce the weight of the vibration system, thereby achieving smooth high-frequency characteristics and improved mid-range connectivity.
In addition, a resin film bobbin with less electromagnetic control is adopted, and mechanical resistance is reduced by a high-compliance damper with good air permeability and non-directional urethane edge. The voice coil is heat-resistant and has a high input resistance design that can withstand a 100 wrms sine wave.
The SB-E200 woofer unit uses a die-cast frame to reduce unwanted vibration.
The mid-range is equipped with a horn type mid-range.
The driver uses a 35 φ, 30 μ m-thick lightweight aluminum diaphragm and a 13,200 gauss magnetic flux density magnet to obtain good transient playback sound.
The horn section uses a radial horn with a wide opening of 150 ° from the base. It is aluminum die-cast and integrally molded. In addition, directional characteristics have been greatly improved by adopting a newly developed shell type equalizer that converts spherical waves generated by the diaphragm into cylindrical waves.
In addition, the horn has been given a sufficient deadning treatment by attaching a natural rubber sheet to suppress the squeal of the horn.
A horn type tweeter is installed in the high frequency range.
The driver section is based on 5HH17. It uses a 14 φ, 50 μ m thick metalized polyester film diaphragm and an alnico magnet with 12,500 gauss magnetic flux density.
The horn section is an aluminum die-cast radial horn with an opening angle of 150 ° and is integrally molded. Like the mid-range, it is deadened with natural rubber sheet.
The network section uses a linear phase network with a combination of -12dB/oct and m-type induction.
A centralized control tower is mounted on the rear of the horn, and the horn mounting mechanism, crossover network, attenuator, thermal relay protection circuit, input terminals and multi-amplifier terminals are assembled into a single chassis.
The attenuator and thermal relay protection circuit have a structure in which the mid-range and high-range are independent.
The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
In addition, the exterior is finished with oil using real rosewood.
There was a special speaker stand with 2 levels of height adjustable separately.
