SB-7000
Commentary

This speaker system is the prototype of the linear phase speaker series designed based on the linear phase theory.

Technics' own linear phase theory is introduced.
Only the good parts of the wide-band and low-distortion speaker units are connected by a special network, and the sound centers of the units are arranged on the same straight line when viewed from the side. The positions are moved forward or backward for correction, thereby flattening the sound pressure frequency characteristics and phase frequency characteristics.
In addition, the units are arranged in a vertical line and placed as close as possible to achieve excellent directional characteristics.

It features a 35 cm cone woofer in the low range, a 12 cm cone midrange in the middle range, and a 3.2 cm dome tweeter using a newly developed square-shaped strontium ferrite magnet in the high range.
These units are designed with low distortion factor and high input resistance.

The mid-range and high-range are equipped with new level controls.
In order to reduce the effect of level switching on the phase characteristics, this level control has two anti-resonance circuits in the mid - and high-frequency ranges. The level is adjusted by changing the Q (a coefficient representing the sharpness of resonance), thereby minimizing the deterioration of basic characteristics.

The enclosure is dumped bass reflex designed.

There are 2 kinds of variations, SB-7000W with white finish and SB-7000MP with rosewood grain finish.
