Commentary
This is a two way speaker system of the linear phase series that follows the design philosophy of Technics7.
The Woofer is a 30 cm unit and uses aramid fiber for the cone paper to expand the range of piston motion. In addition, the center pole of the magnetic circuit is equipped with a copper cap to reduce strain in the middle and high range.
The vibration plate of the tweeter is made by compression molding of strong silk cloth and lightweight polyurethane film with high internal loss.
The newly developed S. R. V. C. (Seamless Ridged Voice Coil) is used for the voice coil of each unit to achieve high input resistance.
The network is designed so that the sound-pressure-frequency characteristics and phase-frequency characteristics, including the characteristics of each unit, are flat. A combination of -12dB/oct. for the woofer and -6dB/oct. and -18dB/oct. for the tweeter is used.
The vertical arrangement of the units emphasizes the orientation characteristics in the horizontal direction, and the units are close to each other to improve the orientation characteristics in the vertical direction.
A fraction-equalizer is installed on the tweeter base to improve directional characteristics.
