This fully automatic player is improved by quartz continuous pitch control using newly developed IC and automatic mechanism using micro computer and infrared application technology.

Opto-electronics (infrared application technology) and microcomputer are introduced, and all auto operation is controlled by microcomputer except for pitch control, power ON/OFF, and rotation number switching.
The size and presence of the record are determined by three LEDs and an optical sensor placed under the turntable. Infrared light passes through three rows of prism slots cut into the turntable, reaches the optical sensor, and gives a decision command to the microcomputer.

The turntable is made of die-cast aluminum and the reverse side is deadened with rubber to prevent howling.
The drive motor is equipped with an integrated D. D. motor unique to Technics. In addition, an all-around detection FG is adopted for the rotational speed detection mechanism to realize highly accurate rotational speed detection.

A newly developed IC is used in the quartz synthesizer circuit to enable continuous pitch control within ± 6%. Moreover, the turntable rotation at any pitch is locked to the quartz oscillation frequency.
The pitch change can be seen on the LED pitch display in the bar graph display, with green LEDs for 0% pitch change and red LEDs in increments of 1% for + or - pitch change.

Built-in electronic brake that instantly stops the turntable.

The bearing structure of the tone arm adopts the gimbal suspension system.
This system has a 4-point support structure with precision ball bearings and pivots. The axis centers of the horizontal and vertical rotating parts intersect at one point, realizing an initial motion sensitivity of 7 mg for both horizontal and vertical rotation.
In addition, it is equipped with a height adjustment mechanism using a 6-row helicoid in order to realize higher precision adjustment and superior operability.

The operation of the tone arm is also controlled by an optical sensor and microcomputer to improve the operation accuracy.
In addition, a DC servo motor is used for the arm drive to realize smooth and quiet operation.

The cabinet structure adopts a double insulator mechanism.
In this system, the arm and turntable motor are mounted on the main base, and vibration is suppressed by floating with an insulator made of appropriate viscoelastic material and metal spring. In addition, the cabinet is supported by an insulator with excellent vibration damping characteristics.
In addition, TNRC (Technics Non Resonance Compaund), an acoustic material with excellent vibration isolation and vibration characteristics, is used for the bottom base and cabinet top surface to block and absorb external vibration. In addition, the cabinet is made of aluminum die-cast to reduce vibration.

Equipped with a quick repeat function, the arm moves directly from the end groove to the guide group without once returning to the rest like the conventional arm during repeated performance.

It is equipped with a muting circuit that suppresses unpleasant sound when the needle contacts and separates from the record surface.

Equipped with a cabinet storable stylus illuminator (needle tip illumination).

Equipped with Mizutama 4-row strobe capable of pitch detection of + 6%, + 3.3%, 0% and -3.3%.

The cartridge is sold separately and comes with a dust cover.
