RS-B100
Commentary

A stereo cassette deck developed to be a reference deck for the CD era.

Quartz D. D. closed loop double capstan system is used for the running system.
We have also improved driving accuracy by adopting a Kyoshin distributed capstan and newly installed three tape guides.

In the RS-B100, we are working on the theme of waveform transmission for the first time as a cassette deck. We have adopted a phase correction circuit that keeps the group delay characteristics of music signals constant in order to improve the phase frequency disturbance that causes sound quality degradation during dubbing, etc. This realizes faithful reproduction of input waveform, which was said to be difficult with conventional decks.
In the amplifier section, a linear feedback circuit and a direct-coupling dual FET are used to further reduce noise and distortion.

The recording and reproducing head uses an AX combination head made of amorphous alloy, which realizes excellent high-frequency characteristics, high MOL, and high abrasion resistance.
We also succeeded in obtaining more appropriate characteristics by changing the composition distribution of the recording and reproducing heads.

Equipped with an auto tape selector that automatically detects the tape type and sets the tape position.

It is equipped with a bias adjustment function that adjusts the optimum bias value depending on the type of tape according to the signal transmitted from the deck, and a level calibration function that is independent of left and right.

Three types of noise reduction systems are installed : dbx system and Dolby NR B/C.
The dbx system achieves a dynamic range of 110 dB by recording the music signal with 2 / 1 compression and expanding it twice during playback.
The three NRs have a double circuit configuration built into each of the recording and playback sides, enabling simultaneous recording and monitoring in the NR in state.

Equipped with a 2-way digital counter, in addition to the normal 3-digit tape count, it is also possible to digitally display the remaining tape time (minutes / seconds).

With a built-in music selector, you can start the next song by pressing the FF key while the tape is playing, and start the current song by pressing the REW key.

Equipped with Auto Rec Mute, pressing the rec mute button automatically creates a 4-second unrecorded portion and enters the recording standby state.

Equipped with a 3-color wide-range FL display that can normally display -40dB to + 8 dB and -40dB to + 18 dB with dbx in.

Equipped with an auto monitor that does not require monitor switching during recording.

Equipped with Auto-Rec memory.

By connecting the optional wired remote controller, you can operate from a remote location.
