RS-262U
Commentary

This is a stereo cassette deck with a high-fidelity cassette.

Newly designed outer rotor type hysteresis synchronous motor is used for the drive motor.
In the outer rotor type, the rotor (rotor) turns around the outside of the stator (stator), so the flywheel effect is large and smooth rotation can be obtained. In addition, the motor of the RS 270 u is specially adjusted for dynamic balance, and combined with the constant speed inherent in the hysteresis synchronous type, it realizes wow and flutter characteristics equivalent to the open-reel.
In addition, this motor has features such as no induction hum due to the shield effect of the rotor, good heat radiation effect and excellent heat resistance.

The mechanism uses a belt drive system in which the capstan is driven by a belt from an outer rotor motor. The capstan uses a 2.5 mm capstan. After centerless polishing, a super finish is applied to achieve roundness.

Equipped with a PAUSE button that stops tape running only while it is pressed.

Equipped with an auto release mechanism.
In addition to simply stopping the tape, the RS 270 u completely stops the mechanism to prevent the pinch roller from deforming if left unattended for a long time.

Equipped with a memory rewind function using a counter.
If the counter is set to 000 at the memory point and the memory switch is turned on, it will stop at counter 999 when it is rewound. This automatic stop mechanism uses an electromagnetic solenoid.

The head part uses a newly developed low impedance permalloy head for RS 270 u.
In addition, the electrical circuit is designed to take advantage of the characteristics of the head to achieve natural sound quality.

The electrical circuit is designed using new parts to improve the S / N ratio.
All transistors are silicon type. Especially, low-noise type 2SC644 is used for the first stage. Solid aluminum electrolytic capacitor with low leakage current is used for coupling capacitor. Cut core type with low leakage flux is used for power transformer to prevent induction hum.
In addition, NFB is applied to each stage to reduce distortion, and the meter circuit including non-linear elements and headphone circuit are independent so that the line output with less distortion can be taken out. In addition, the recording path is equipped with a dedicated amplifier for direct drive of the head to improve recording characteristics.
The bias oscillation circuit uses a full-scale push-pull system and the oscillation frequency is 100 kHz.

Equipped with a level meter.
With this meter, you can check the recording level by pressing the record button.

The monitor during recording can be played back with characteristics that do not pass through the equalizer.

The tape selector uses a bias switching method and is compatible with low-noise tapes.

Equipped with a 12dB/oct. noise suppressor that employs a high-cut method with an active filter.

It has a read-only volume.
