As a 2-track, 38cm/s tape deck, in addition to the most luxurious configuration, this is the highest quality tape deck with capstan direct drive.
For the capstan motor, a brushless low-speed motor and a capstan with a diameter of 12 mm are used to further enhance the high performance of D. D.
Electronic control system is adopted for 3 motors.
This is a direct drive system in which the motor shaft is finished into a capstan, and its rotation is controlled by an electronic circuit to obtain accurate operation.
With accurate operation, the motor operates quietly at the required number of revolutions, resulting in no vibration and less flutter.
In addition, the deterioration of performance due to aging is also reduced.
A 6-pole eddy current type inner rotor motor is used for the reel motor, and the tension can be switched by reel size.
Since the operation of the mechanism is performed by an electromagnetic plunger and relay, all operations can be performed by instructions of a micro switch.
Speed adjustment of ± 2% is possible at each of 2 speeds of 19cm/s and 38cm/s.
Since the fine adjustment knob has a Klix/Klukš top, the specified speed can be obtained accurately at that position.
The electrical circuit section is designed with an emphasis on linearity with the aim of recording live sound with a wide dynamic range.
The circuit configuration consists of 3-stage direct-coupled circuits for 1-3 stages of the reproduction system and 2-4 stages of the recording system. Carefully selected low-noise type transistors are used. Only the amplifier system uses 35-stone transistors.
The microphone input and line input are equipped with independent level controllers to enable mixing recording.
In addition, the impedance switch for the microphone is provided so that the best matching can be obtained for all types from low impedance type to high impedance type.
The head has a structure in which four heads are mounted on a die-cast head mount.
The contents are for 2-track erasing, 2-track recording, 2-track playback, and 4-track playback and 4-track playback. Except for the erasing head, all are HPF heads.
The HPF head has adopted a hyperbolic shape.
Features of this head include high gap accuracy, long life, and excellent high-frequency characteristics due to low overcurrent loss.
The microphone input has a jack for a large single-head plug on the front and a balanced canon-type jack on the back.
The Canon input side contains a BTS standard input multi-run (600 Ω balanced -72dB).
Features include editing buttons, large illuminated VU meters, tape selectors, push-lock reel clampers, and follow-up recording.
