Commentary
"Full-scale high fidelity utilizing a wide range of tracks and sufficient tape speed" is a favorite of open-reel, and master tape deck which demonstrates its advantages based on advantageous conditions of open-reel.
The mechanism is an orthodox 3-motor system, and the capstan motor adopts a hysteresis synchronous type with 4-pole / 8-pole switching.
Two tape speeds, 38cm/s and 19cm/s, can be selected by changing the number of poles of the motor.
By using large flywheels and a wide and high precision flat belt, excellent wow and flutter characteristics are achieved.
The reel motor uses a 6-pole eddy current pole eddy current type motor with excellent drooping characteristics, and the quick winding speed is appropriately adjusted so as not to damage the tape. The tape tension can be switched according to the reel size.
