Commentary

A PCM recording processor for PCM recording and playback in combination with a VCR.

You can record credits and monitor recordings on audio tracks of videotapes.
Credit My Kujac is installed in the audio track of the videotape, enabling you to record notes in the normal signal. You can record the name of the song, the name of the performer, the date and time of recording, etc., so you can play the digitally recorded tape on the VTR and see what is recorded on the tape.
In addition, the analog recording of the same contents as the digital recording can be recorded in the audio track, so that it is possible to monitor and cue the music.

Curvilinear quantization is used for A/D conversion and D/A conversion.

Equipped with an automatic switching function between recording mode and playback mode.
If you hold down the Auto button of the Rec/Playback selector, the processor will enter the recording state (A/D conversion) when PCM recording is being performed on a VTR, and will automatically enter the regenerating condition state (D/A conversion) when playing.
This mechanism takes advantage of the fact that an output signal is always present at the VTR output terminal so that the content can be checked even during recording. If the input and output signals are the same, the processor determines that recording is taking place, otherwise it determines that playback is taking place.

Equipped with an LED indicator for adjusting the angle between the VTR head and the playback tape (tracking adjustment).
In the SH-P1, the lower limit of the head displacement is indicated by the position of 32 LEDs lined up on the front panel of the body so that it can be visually confirmed. The best adjustment point is where this meter swings at its maximum.

In addition to the level adjustment volume (rotation angle 300 °) for the left and right channels separately, there is also a fade volume that can be adjusted simultaneously for both channels. The rotation angle of this volume is 150 °, which is 1/2 of the normal rotation angle, so that you can quickly fade in and out.

Although the standard 20 kHz is available in stereo mode, recording in mono mode can be extended to 40 kHz.
This makes it possible to digitize not only audio signals but also various types of ultrasonic information and electrical signals and data up to 40 kHz.

The level indicator has 2 dB steps.
This indicator can be peak held.

Two VTRs can be connected for recording.

The input / output terminals of the basic model are pin jacks, but canon terminals and BNC terminals can be added as needed.

It is designed to be connected to digital mixers and other digital peripherals.

Built-in 440 Hz reference signal generator enables level check and level adjustment.

By adding a digital dubbing unit, it is possible to dub the digital signal as it is.
