SH-D1000
Commentary

An audio programmer that can be combined with a PC to create sound and systems.

Unlike conventional processors in which dedicated programs are written in the DSP in advance, the SH-D1000 is equipped with a program-rewriting DSP, which enables you to use a wide range of functions by changing and setting programs using your personal computer.

Equipped with a unique S-Advanced Mash Class A D/A converter and A/D converter, it can be used not only as a program transfer from a PC, but also as a digital preamplifier using the DAC unit or analog volume of your system.

One analog and digital (optical) Route 3 are mounted on the input terminals, and two analog and digital (optical) terminals are mounted on the outputs.
In addition, it has a single digital recording output.

Up to three sound adjustment programs created on a PC can be saved and read in the SH-D1000.

BTL drive of the power amplifier is possible.

Digital sampling frequency is 44.1 kHz and MD recording is possible.

Wireless remote control is included.

The software posted on the Technics website could be purchased on a floppy disk.

An equalizer program software compatible with Windows95 was included in the package.
This equalizer program allows you to select a graphic equalizer, AI equalizer, or universal frequency equalizer.

The graphic equalizer has three selectable elements : 9, 15, and 28. The left and right can be individually controlled by ± 10 dB (L/R simultaneous for 28 elements). The graphic equalizer can also display the frequency characteristics of each band or overall, and adjust the Q factor.

The AI equalizer allows you to control the "heavy-light" and "soft-sharp" sound images on a two dimensional display surface, rather than manipulating the frequency response numerically.
With the Universal Frequency Equalizer, you can control the center frequency, band level, band width and slope characteristics of each 11 bands independently within ± 10 dB.

I was able to download and use functions compatible with Windows95 from the Technics home page.

Channel divider can be set to 2-way stereo or 4-way mono channel divider.

EQCD combines a graphic equalizer with channel divider. The input signal is equalized by a parametric equalizer and then band-divided by a filter.

Sound Field Control (SFC) has the effect of making a listening room sound like a stadium by adding reflected sound and reverberation sound to the input signal.

The digital level shifter can display the peak of the incoming digital signal, and the level of the incoming signal can be raised or lowered in the digital signal region.

The Shelving Tone Control (STC) is 5 elements for each Bass and Treble, for a total of 10 elements.

Virtual Stereo can increase sound spread by creating a sound field outside the actual location of the speakers.

The channel phase shifter electrically compensates for the difference in the sound emission point of each unit of the multi-way speaker.

As a new version of the equalizer program software, an input attenuation switching function has been added.
