Panasonic SU-TX50
¥ 125,000 (released in 1996)
Commentary
AV amplifier equipped with 5-channel power amplifier and multi-channel input.
The power amplifier section uses a unique enhanced class H circuit, and by using three hybrid ICs, a large output of 120Wx3 + 100Wx2 is achieved with a conventional amplifier size.
In addition, the problem of distortion, which was a drawback of the conventional Class H amplifier, has been solved, and high efficiency and low distortion rate have been realized.
Equipped with Dolby Pro Logic.
The SU-TX50 uses a 5-channel configuration that satisfies Dolby ProLogic's ideal surround condition of "using the same speakers for L/R / Center and driving with the same power".
It also has three built-in surround modes : normal, wide and phantom.
It is equipped with a decoder for a home THX audio system that realizes the THX sound system at home developed by Lucasfilm.
Equipped with a Sound Field Control (SFC) that allows you to select from seven sound fields, such as halls and live houses, you can surround sound playback from stereo sources such as non-Dolby encoded CDs and cassette tapes using DSP signal processing.
The 3-mode SSI (Sound Stage Imaging) feature allows you to create a more natural and expanded sound field when playing back a normal stereo source.
Equipped with digital delay circuit.
The delay time can be varied from 15 to 30mm/sec in 5mm/sec steps.
Discrete 6-channel inputs are used to support multi-channel outputs such as a digital surround processor that decodes Dolby Digital (AC-3) or a DVD player with 5.1 channel decoded outputs.
An input terminal for Hi-Vision TV4ch is installed in order to support the discrete 4 ch sound of Hi-Vision broadcasting.
It also has a 4-channel stereo detection input terminal that automatically changes the playback mode.
Equipped with a power meter that can turn on / off the lighting.
It comes with a system remote controller that enables centralized control of Panasonic / Technics AV equipment.
