Commentary

Pre-main amplifier of the new integrated DC amplifier series.

It employs a straight DC method in which a capacitor with a time constant is eliminated from the stage between the high-level input and the output terminal of the speaker and from the negative feedback. This realizes faithful waveform transmission from the direct current region, which is an ultra-low band, to the entire audible band.
In addition, when the operating point moves due to fluctuations in the power supply or temperature, this becomes an input signal and an ultra-low-frequency signal appears on the output side as if a DC signal has been input. As a countermeasure against DC drift, the characteristics of the pair elements such as differential and current mirror are strictly aligned and handled.
In addition, the SU-8099 employs an active thermal servo system, which actively compensates for unbalanced temperature characteristics between paired elements, thereby eliminating the cause of drift itself.

Operation can be switched between straight DC and via tone (tone control circuit insertion).

In order to eliminate distortion in the high-frequency region, one concentrated power block is used for each left and right side.
Large signals and large current components such as large capacity electrolytic capacitors, power supply circuits, drive circuits, and power transistors are compactly concentrated in a single radiator block. At the same time, the large current components are arranged using copper plates at the shortest distance, so that the influence of electromagnetic induction is completely suppressed, and even ultra-high frequency signals of up to 100 kHz can be reproduced with a margin and low distortion.

Newly developed super linear transistor is adopted.
This transistor is equivalent to having more than 200 built-in small-signal transistors with excellent high-frequency characteristics. The high-frequency reproduction limit is on the order of 100 MHz, and the Takamasu width-ratio is realized linearly from small current to large current.

In order to realize high power, it is composed of a large capacity power transformer with left and right independent windings, a power supply circuit of left and right independent ± 2 power supply system with two large capacity electrolytic capacitors, and two plugged power blocks.

Uses a peak power meter with a pure electronic FL (fluorescent display tube) that is easy to see the output level.
The lighting bar parallel display is used for easy viewing without the influence of parallax and for easy reading of the balance of the left and right channels.

Equipped with MC pre-preamp for direct use of MC cartridge.

High-precision volume is used.

A tone control circuit is adopted in which the tone control element is removed from the signal system at the midpoint.

The Rec selector has been made independent and the selector layout has been adopted in pursuit of good operability.

Uses an equalizer subsonic filter.

There are 2 variations, silver and black.
