KENWOOD LSF-555
¥ 50,000 (a set of two cars, around 1997)
Commentary
A speaker system developed in pursuit of a point sound source.
The low range has a 15 cm cone woofer, and the high range has a 2.8 cm soft dome tweeter.
The network section employs an SS (Subtraction Series) network that uses a system in which the same current flows through two units near the crossover frequency.
The circuit configuration ensures that the total energy of the two units is equal to the input energy, thereby achieving an ideal cross curve.
The front baffle uses a Diffused Diffraction Design (DDD) baffle to prevent diffracted sound waves from adversely affecting sound quality.
By reducing the corners as much as possible and making the distance from the unit to the corners not equal, diffraction is dispersed and reduced.
The enclosure uses MDF, and the baffle uses an aluminum die-cast baffle to eliminate resonance.
