Commentary

A tall boy type speaker system equipped with a super woofer.

A 16 cm cross-dyneema cone unit is used as the main driver unit for the mid-range.
This unit uses a composite of carbon fiber and dyneema fiber, which is light enough to float on water and has high internal loss, as a vibration plate to reduce natural sound.
In addition, a pure aluminum edge-wise voice coil has been adopted. The cross-sectional shape of the wire is not round but almost rectangular. When wound around a voice coil bobbin, it has a high occupancy rate in the gap and realizes a cooperative driving force even for minute input signals.
In addition, an Alnico magnet is used for the magnetic circuit, and it is composed of a thick genuine jar type yoke.

A 2.5 cm hard dome type super tweeter is used for the high range.
For the diaphragm, we have adopted a plasma diamond vibrating plate made by forming diamond with properties such as high hardness, high Young's modulus and high thermal conductivity on the titanium surface. We have also adopted a crystal plasma diamond vibrating plate with higher surface hardness, higher rigidity and improved acoustic characteristics.
In addition, a jar-shaped alnico magnet is used for the magnetic circuit, and a spherical wave horn baffle is used to suppress diffuse reflection at the aperture.

A twin-drive super-woofer is used to reproduce low frequencies below 150 Hz.
Based on the development of Helmholtz's resonator theory, this system achieves low-frequency reproduction with a small-diameter woofer comparable to that of a large-diameter woofer. It consists of a bus emphasis chamber, two treble attenuation chambers, two bus drive units, and a streamline port.
A 16-cm-diameter woofer unit drives three chambers, and the driven emphasis chamber enhances the bass and adds it to the treble attenuation chamber, attenuates unwanted high tones and emits them from the streamline port.

The main driver, Super Tweeter and Super Woofer can be connected by bi-wiring with independent inputs to reduce interference between units due to back electromotive force and improve sound quality.

Since it is a magnetic protection design, it can be installed near a TV.

Inside the enclosure, the Twin Drive Superwoofer is completely isolated so that strong low sound energy does not adversely affect other units.

There were 2 types, LS-X9 in brown color and LS-X9 (D) in dark brown color.
