Commentary
This is a speaker system with improved linear response using the know-how of the LS 606.
A 25 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm uses a thermal shock weighted cone made by molding cone paper with compressed hot air, thus taking advantage of pre-scone and non-pre-scone and improving resolution in the low frequency range.
The mid-range is equipped with a 10 cm cone type squaker.
By installing a center pole in the chamber part of this unit, the split vibration of cone paper and dome part is suppressed, and the transient response characteristic in middle and high range is improved.
A 4-cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
By using a light and hard material for the diaphragm, high efficiency and low distortion factor are achieved. By using a special damping material for the edge, a flatter frequency response is achieved. In addition, by integrally molding the cone part and dome part, the connection with the squaker is smooth.
In the network section, the coils for the woofer and the tweeter are remotely arranged independently to prevent reciprocal induction of the network coil, and the conductor resistance of the ground line is minimized to reduce the electromotive force generated in the ground line of the printed circuit board.
The front baffle of the enclosure uses an acoustic shield baffle with a slit between the woofer and high range (squaker / tweeter) sections to prevent the transmission of woofer vibrations to the high range unit and improve sound localization.
The enclosure uses a new acoustic homogen material that was developed based on the results of thorough measurements and listening tests.
