Commentary
Auto-reverse tape deck developed for professional use.
By adopting a 6-head Oatley berth mechanism, recording, playback and monitoring are possible in both forward and reverse directions.
Operations such as changing the direction of travel of the reverse mechanism, switching of recording / playback / monitor, fast forward and repeat operation are linked by a micro switch and an electromagnetic plunger. In addition, the mechanism, idler and relay are all electrically controlled.
The mechanism part employs a belt idler drive mechanism using a silicon belt. The TRIO's unique double drive system reduces flutter components directly generated from the motor.
In addition, tape travel is stabilized by the symmetrical design of the travel path.
In order to eliminate tape slack during reverse operation, a special clutch type time-lag Oatley berth mechanism using a permanent magnet solves this problem.
The head has a perfect shield as a countermeasure against external noise and guided hum.
The amplifier section employs a solid-state read-write amplifier using silicon transistors.
The equalizer amplifier has a separate amplifier for each head.
In order to eliminate the complexity of tape loading, a loading bar has been adopted in which tape loading can be done with one lever.
Equipped with sound search and repeat functions.
An electrical method is used to change the tape speed by changing the number of motor poles (4/8 poles).
The tension arm is linked with the auto-stop mechanism so that the mechanism part automatically stops after the reciprocating motion when the repeated performance is not performed.
The mechanism part and the amplifier part adopt a completely separate mounting system.
Equipped with a 2-dB-step, 5-step NAB-standard equalizer compensation switch that accurately adjusts the frequency response to the tape standard.
Equipped with left and right independent microphone jacks.
A 4-digit tape counter is used.
Equipped with a VU meter.
Can be used horizontally.
It can also be used as a 4-track monaural tape deck.
Equipped with a remote control terminal, it is possible to connect a separately sold remote control BOX.
