KX-880SRII
Commentary

This is an improved model of KX-880SR which adopted Super TLLE.

It has two loops for head drive and gain control, and uses Kenwood's original constant-current drive circuit Super TLLE that is DC-connected to the recording head with ± 2 power supplies.
As a result, high-quality and thick high-frequency sound can be recorded without current transmission loss in the high-frequency range.
In addition, by eliminating the output resistance, the dynamic range of the recording amplifier has been improved by 12 to 13 dB (400 Hz) compared to the conventional method. Furthermore, since the head drive current does not depend on the impedance change of the head, phase degradation does not occur and current distortion caused by load fluctuation is suppressed. Moreover, since the recording head is directly connected to DC, flat recording is possible even in the ultra-low range.

It uses a high-rigidity silent mechanism developed by analyzing all vibration modes of the mechanism.
In addition, the KX-880SRII has simplified the mechanical body and adopted a metal shaft as a guide for fixing the cassette. In addition, a metal with high rigidity is used for the head base for mounting the head.

All of the recording circuit, reproducing circuit, and Dolby B and C circuit use ± power supply circuit of op-amp type, and clear sound is realized by clarifying 0 potential of earth.
In addition, the power supply section uses a constant voltage power supply of ± Line 5 to eliminate interference between components, and in particular, there is no power supply ripple in the recording circuit, thus improving sound image localization.

Using a motor drive circuit with clear grounding, noise components generated by motor rotation are eliminated and sound quality is improved.

The head uses an amorphous alloy head, which has high permeability and large magnetic flux can be obtained with a small magnetic field, enabling high-efficiency and high-sound recording.
The head core is composed of 13 laminated layers of 45 μ m ultra-thin amorphous alloy with excellent insulating properties. This structure realizes low overcurrent and wide frequency characteristics with extended high-frequency range.
In addition, oxygen-free copper is used for the winding to improve transmission characteristics.

Equipped with a level meter that can display up to -36dB.

IC is used for the Dolby C type.

Equipped with New DPSS, you can perform various operations such as front-and-back one track cue, desired one track cue, one track repeat, one side full repeat, dash and play, Re-recスタンバイ, rewind play, 0 stop, index scan, blank search, auto mute, etc.
The 4-digit linear counter uses a multi-function display that automatically switches between a DPSS indicator and a residual quantity indicator.

In addition to the black model, there was also a silver model.
