Commentary
This auto-reverse deck is equipped with Dolby C and New D. P.S. S. and is capable of playing back and forth records.
The quick reverse uses a rotary head system.
Since azimuth adjustment is possible independently in the Forward direction and Reverse direction, head touch is assured with less azimuth deviation in the reciprocating direction.
In addition, when reversing, it is a quick reverse that uses an infrared sensor to detect the end of the tape (recordable part) rather than the end of the leader tape. Therefore, the head reverses for 0.4 seconds, the sound-free time is 0.8 seconds, and the time when music stops is extremely short.
The noise reduction system is equipped with Dolby C and has an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.
Equipped with New D. P. S. which is easy operation of tape operation.
As its main functions, it is equipped with such functions as one song repeat playback that allows you to listen to your favorite song 16 times repeatedly, leading playback of up to 16 songs in front and back that can be called up, index scan that allows you to play back only the intro one after another, full repeat playback on one side or both sides that allows you to listen to your favorite tape repeatedly, rewind play that allows you to start and play with one touch even on a tape that has not been rewound, Auto Rec Mute that allows you to freely play blank parts between songs, Single Recording Replay that allows you to recover failed recordings with one touch, and Blank Search that automatically finds unrecorded parts.
The main motor is a DC motor with an electronic governor, and the reel motor is a 2-motor system using another electronically controlled DC motor.
The power supply unit generates a stable constant voltage because the transformer windings are independent windings for mechanical drive.
The level meter uses a 2-color LED display system with 7 points left and right.
Equipped with a dedicated microphone amplifier circuit, it is designed for high-quality microphone recording.
The tape selector can be selected from three positions, and the push-type playback equalizer, recording equalizer, and recording bias can be switched simultaneously.
Equipped with a sync terminal that is convenient for tape-to-tape dubbing editing when combined with the KX-5P read-only deck.
Equipped with a timer standby mechanism.
