Commentary
Front loading type stereo cassette deck.
Equipped with a 3-step switching type input selector, the line input is directly input to the Dolby amplifier without passing through the microphone amplifier. This eliminates the need to lower the line input to the microphone level, greatly improving the SN ratio.
The MIC input is a 2-stage switching type. The MIC position is directly connected to the amplifier, and the MIC / ATT position is attenuated by 12 dB before being input to the amplifier. By using the MIC position for the recording of stringed instruments and the ATT. MIC position for the recording of wind instruments and percussion instruments, you can record high-quality sound without clipping even for peaks.
In order to use the tape under more optimum conditions, a 2-stage bias / 3-stage equalizer switching mechanism is incorporated.
The mechanism uses an ultra-precision finished capstan with a roundness of 0.1 μ and achieves stable rotation. The drive motor uses an electronically controlled DC motor with high starting torque and excellent rotational stability.
A constant voltage circuit is used for the power supply to improve the frequency characteristics by suppressing fluctuations in the oscillation output of the recording bias.
Equipped with a Dolby system as a noise reduction system, noise caused by tape hiss can be reduced.
The acrylic cassette door fits to the body when lightly pressed. In addition, the tape holder is illuminated at an oblique angle for easy tape mounting.
The head uses a hard permalloy head that has approximately twice the hardness and approximately 10 times the durability of conventional permalloy heads.
The recording flux density of the tape is set to 160 pwb as the recording reference level of 0 vu.
As a result, the saturation level of the tape is approximately 10 dB, enabling recording with a wide dynamic range and less distortion.
Equipped with a full auto shut-off mechanism, no excessive force is applied to the motor or tape when the tape is finished running.
KX 5000 is the same size as Amp KA 7500 and Tuner KT-7500.
There was a carrying handle as an option sold separately.
