Commentary

This is a stereo cassette deck that fully pursues basic performance and expands the dynamic range by installing the Dolby HX.

The mechanism uses a direct drive system in which the rotating shaft of the motor directly drives the capstan.
Since there is no intermediate transmission mechanism such as a belt, adverse effects due to changes in wow and flutter caused by the transmission mechanism and aging, etc. are completely eliminated.
The DD motor uses an 8-pole, coreless and slotless 3-phase switching plane drive motor for extremely low torque ripple and high efficiency.
The control system of the DD motor is equipped with an all-round integral AC generator that has demonstrated high accuracy in L-07D, etc., combined with a high-accuracy capstan and a flywheel with a large inertial mass to realize accurate tape travel.

Each mechanism operates using IC full logic control. Each mode can be changed directly from one mode to the next without using the STOP key. Moreover, Menika uses a tape protection method that always switches between modes via STOP mode.

The head uses a ferrite combination 3 head with a recording head of 5 μ m, a reproducing head of 1 μ m and an optimum gap width. It provides a wide range of flat frequency characteristics, low distortion rate, high saturation level and dynamic range.
As a separate power supply for recording and playback, from the head to the amplifier, you can check the level and sound while monitoring and comparing the sound of the recorded tape as well as the sound of the recording source during recording.

Equipped with Dolby HX (Headroom Extension) system.
When recording, the bias current and recording equalizer are changed according to the signal, and the recording dynamic range is expanded like an open loop.

Equipped with auto-rewind which allows you to select either one side of tape repeat or STOP when rewound.

Equipped with an auto lead-in mechanism that allows for quick recording standby after taking up the sensing tape.

It is equipped with a Rec Mute function that can make a non-recording part only for the time you press.

Equipped with bias adjustment volume.

Equipped with REC/PLAY timer standby mechanism.

Equipped with a large VU meter with a 3-point peak indicator.
