DM-9090
Commentary

A high-end MD recorder with a 20-bit Rec D. R. I. V. E. system and 24-bit D / A converter.

Kenwood's original D. R. I. V. E. system has been applied to an MD recorder capable of multi-bit storage by ATRAC, and the 20-bit Rec D. R. I. V. E. system, capable of recording minute signals from CDs and satellite broadcasts with improved reproducibility, has been completed and installed in the DM-9090.
This system consists of a D. R. I. V. E. system added to the ATRAC compression process at the time of recording. The 16-bit input data is converted into 20-bit data by the D. R. I. V. E. process, and after reproducing the small signal buried in the quantization distortion, the ATRAC process is processed and recorded on disk, improving the reproducibility of the small signal.

Using a newly developed 24-bit D/A converter on the output side, the signal recorded by the 20-bit Rec D. R. I. V. E. can be reproduced at high SN, and accurate reproduction is possible even when a pre-recorded disc is reproduced with 24-bit mastering.

It uses ATRACver4.5 (Adaptive Transform Acoustic Coding) as an audio compression technology.
Compared with conventional ATRAC, the ATRACver4.5 has improved computation capability and improved micro-level reproducibility and dynamic range.

Equipped with a digital rec volume that can be adjusted from + 12 dB to - ∞, the recording level can be adjusted when recording, and also equipped with fade-in and fade-out functions that can be used when recording digitally.
The fade time can vary from 1 second to 10 seconds.

It is equipped with a sampling rate converter that automatically converts 32 kHz and 48 kHz digital sources to 44.1 kHz and enables digital recording by SCMS method.

The A/D converter is equipped with an A/D converter that achieves 20-bit resolution with 1-bit fourth order noise shaping.

In addition to the adoption of a highly rigid aluminum mechanical base and frame, an air shield structure of 1.2 mm + 2.0 mm thick steel plate is adopted to eliminate disk resonance caused by vibration and sound pressure.
In addition, each structure is made of a combination of different metals to reduce natural vibration and realize high quality.

When combined with a CD player that outputs CD-TEXT data from the Digital Out, it is possible to dub CD-TEXT information.

Equipped with functions such as quick erase, track erase, quick move, track move, track combine, track divide, title input, and title search.

It is equipped with functions such as a preview function that allows you to fine-tune edit points, an edit cancel function that allows you to redo edits, and mono long-time recording support.

A remote controller for title direct input is included.

By combining with the separately sold Cyber Tight CT-G90, more speedy title input is possible.
In addition, the CD-G90 is equipped with a printing function, and it is possible to print the title label in the size that matches the MD case.
