Commentary
A multi-channel AV amplifier that supports Dolby Digital and DTS.
Supports DTS (Digital Theater Systems), a digital surround format.
The compression density of DTS is about 1 / 4 of that of Dolby Digital (average), and the average data rate per second is high, so that the amount of information is larger.
It is compatible with 5.1 ch Dolby digital surround by adopting 24 bit precision DSP chip.
Also equipped with Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby 3 stereo, you can enjoy a variety of surround playback depending on the source.
In addition, it is equipped with the Midnight Theater Mode, which is useful for Dolby digital playback when the sound volume cannot be reproduced in the middle of the night. The dynamic range can be controlled by switching from 1 → 2 → off.
(Midnight Theater Mode only works with software that supports dynamic range control)
TRAIT, a high-speed thermal response transistor originally developed by Kenwood, is used for all five channels.
TRAIT was the first in the world to be integrated into a single chip by incorporating a temperature detection and correction circuit, which had previously been externally installed, into a power transistor. Temperature correction, which used to take several minutes, can now be performed almost instantly. This improves dynamic characteristics and allows the operating point to dynamically follow the strength of the music signal.
In addition, the power amplifier section uses a discrete design and is compatible with low impedance.
Equipped with a 5-mode DSP, you can enjoy spatial images such as Arena, Jazz Club, Stadium, Cathedral and Theater.
With a built-in FM/AM stereo synthesizer tuner and a 40-station random preset memory function, you can call up the station you want to listen to with one touch.
Equipped with 20-bit A/D and D/A converters.
It comes with an LCD bi-directional remote control with EL back light. Since the execution result of transmitted commands and setting status are fed back from the body, reliable control is possible while watching the LCD display.
This remote control allows basic settings for surround playback to suit your system, such as speakers and room conditions, as well as controls such as surround mode selection, operation of connected components (registration required), Midnight theater and DSP mode selection.
