Commentary

An AM/FM stereo receiver that employs a double-switching and de-modulator system.

The multi-section of the tuner section employs a double switching and de-modulator system.
It is designed to cancel the leakage signal by making the outputs of the main switching circuit and the auxiliary switching circuit symmetrical, taking them in opposite phases, and adding the outputs of both switching circuits.
This prevents degradation of the separation caused by adverse effects on the high-frequency range of the SCA filter and phase shift at the IF stage.

The front-end uses high-performance FET and 3-row varicon, and the IF uses circuit elements such as 2-element mechanical filters and high-gain ICs to improve various characteristics.
In addition, it is equipped with FM muting, which can cut troublesome inter-station noise.

In the main amplifier section, all stages are directly connected and pure complimentary service circuit using ± 2 power supply system without interstage coupling condenser is adopted, and various characteristics of low sound range are improved.

The protection circuit consists of an excess current detection circuit developed by Trio and a DC voltage detection circuit for the L/R output terminal as an OR circuit.
When either one of the detection circuits operates, the discharge circuit turns ON, the Schmidt circuit operates, and the relay circuit is driven to disconnect the output terminal from the amplifier circuit to protect the speaker.
