Commentary
A 3-head stereo cassette deck equipped with dbx.
Dbx is a professional standard noise reduction system developed for recording studios. When recording a strong sound exceeding the allowable dynamic range of a tape (55 dB to 60 dB), the level of the sound is compressed to 1 / 2 of the original sound, and the level is doubled during playback. This method ensures the dynamic range of the original sound.
In addition, the noise level is reduced by 30 dB to 40 dB over the entire band, and the inherent noise of the tape is reduced to a level that is not an acoustic problem.
Unlike other NR systems that change the frequency, this system performs linear logarithmic compression and expansion, eliminating the need for level matching and pilot tone due to differences in sensitivity of the tapes used.
Uses a complete 2-motor system with 1 motor for reel drive during FF, Rew and Play and 1 motor for capstan drive.
In addition, it incorporates a mechanical tension servo that provides constant speed and uniform head touch from the beginning to the end of winding.
Equipped with a timer standby mechanism that can record the absence and play the alarm clock.
Bias/EQ Independent 3-stage switching is possible. In addition, it is equipped with a differential type left / right interlocking volume that enables accurate level setting.
