Commentary
Stereo tape deck combining A-4000 with RA-40 for recording only amplifier.
In order to automatically play back and forth a 4-track stereo tape, a special head for reverse playback has been added, and a total of 4 heads are installed.
The head has a hyperbolly-shaped surface and uses a 3-micron (regenerative) gap, front shield and precision processing to improve the frequency range and crosstalk.
The motor is a 3-motor type with independent motors for tape drive, rewinding and winding.
The tape drive motor and reel motor are equipped with a hysteresis torque motor, and the capstan uses a 4-pole 8-pole 2-speed motor.
Equipped with a symmetrical control system, you can play forward and backward, fast forward in both directions and stop with 4 buttons.
Equipped with an automatic reverse playback function, it can automatically perform reverse playback at the desired position by attaching a sensing foil to the back of the tape.
In addition, it is equipped with an automatic stop function, and when rewind or reverse direction play is finished, a switch linked to the tension arm works and stops automatically.
Equipped with a tape tension switch, the back tension can be switched to 2 levels depending on the thickness of the tape, so there is no worry of damaging the tape.
Equipped with a monitor changeover switch, the source and tape can be switched for monitoring, so that the recorded state can be checked simultaneously with the recording.
Equipped with a 4-digit index counter.
