Commentary

A speaker system developed with the aim of improving low-frequency reproduction and producing natural human voices and musical instrument sounds.

A 20 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The vibration analysis method of spacecraft NASTRAN and cone paper shape determined by audibility are adopted for the vibration plate. Based on this, urethane edge with excellent response and rise damper with high linearity are adopted.
In addition, we have achieved a low-distortion magnetic circuit by introducing new techniques such as a large voice coil of 50 mm φ with excellent input resistance, large magnet, a hollow yoke for reducing the back pressure of cone paper, and a T-shaped pole piece with symmetrical magnetic flux distribution.
In addition, an aluminum die-cast frame is used for the frame to reduce unnecessary vibration.

8 cm cone type mid-range is used for the mid-range.
It uses lightweight cone paper with a well-examined shape and material. It has a unique moisture-proof treatment and a low high-frequency resonance Q to obtain a playback sound with a good start.
An efficient strontium ferrite magnet is used for the magnetic circuit, and an aluminum die-cast frame is used for the frame.

A 2 cm titanium dome tweeter is installed in the high range.
The small-diameter dome diaphragm, in which the dome and the edge are integrally formed, improves the high-frequency characteristics and greatly reduces distortion in the band used by the tweeter.

Low-distortion, low-loss parts such as electrolytic capacitors in plastic cases are used in the network section.

In the enclosure, fine grooves are provided on the inner periphery of the baffle plate and the back plate to finely control the vibration frequency of each plate including the body plate, and to obtain a sound close to chord with a good ear quality by subjective evaluation methods.
All boards are made of high-density particleboards.

We have SS-R55 with wood-grain finish and SS-R55W with light gray finish.
