SONY SS-R5
¥ 39,000 (1 unit, around 1979)
Commentary
The R Series speaker system was newly developed based on the know-how of the G Series.
A 30 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses a special edge and a high linearity damper to reduce the lowest resonance frequency to 23 Hz.
A 5 cm balanced drive type tweeter using a titanium diaphragm is mounted in the high range.
The front of this unit is equipped with an acoustic lens that diffuses the high-frequency components to enrich the atmosphere and sense of presence.
The enclosure calculates the radiation frequency of each plate surface by Fast Fourier Transform and controls it to suppress the box ringing.
There was a speaker stand sold separately.
