G-series bookshelf speaker system.
The PLUMB INLINE method is used to clarify the orientation of depth in addition to the orientation of right and left.
In this employs a unique layout in which the woofer is put forward based on a comprehensive judgment based on accumulated experiments on the shape, material and mounting position of the cone, thereby aligning the sound source position of each unit almost in a straight line.
In order to prevent the sound reflected on the baffle board from interfering with the direct sound, causing peaks and valleys at specific frequencies and sharp directional characteristics, we have adopted an Acoustic Grooved Board (AG). In the AG board, the longitudinal and lateral grooves have a diffuse effect that disperses reflected waves with high energy at specific frequencies, reducing interference with the direct sound and improving the sense of orientation.
In order to make the mid-range and tweeter as close as possible, they are integrated into a unit board, which improves the directional characteristics of the upper and lower directions.
A 30 cm cone woofer with CARBOCON for the diaphragm is installed in the low range.
The magnetic circuit is composed of an Alnico V magnet and a large voice coil housed in a □ type yoke with less flux leakage. In addition, in order to suppress unpleasant harmonic distortion generated from the magnetic circuit, FC material with less current distortion is used for the pole material, and asymmetric distortion is reduced by making it into a T-shape structure.
The frame uses an aluminum die-cast frame with a strong stay part, a thick outer peripheral part, and a large number of ribs on the back of the outer peripheral part to increase rigidity.
The mid-range uses an 8 cm cone type mid-range with a balanced drive type.
In this unit, a special damping agent is manually applied to the edge to obtain good damping. Ferrite magnet is used for the magnetic circuit to make it close to magnetic saturation, and T-type pole is used to make the magnetic flux density distribution symmetrical to improve linearity and reduce current distortion.
A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter is installed in the high range.
20 μ Titanium foil is used for the diaphragm.
Similar to the SS-G7, the inductor for the woofer in the network section is wound with a thick copper wire of 1.5 mm around an oriented core to limit the resistance to less than 0.2 Ω. In addition, it is firmly fixed with special resin to prevent resonance between the wires.
We have also adopted metallized film capacitors with low internal loss and excellent sound quality.
The enclosure has a bass-reflex structure. High-density Karamatsu particle board is used for the front baffle plate, and high-density softwood particle board is used for the back and side plates.
Sold separately, there was a special speaker stand WS-G5 designed for SS-G5.
This stand uses a laminated high-density particle board and a large ingot type rubber for the legs.
