Commentary

This 3-way speaker system was developed based on the theme of improving the beauty of sound and dynamic range of audibility by exploring new ways of digital speakers.

A 31 cm cone type unit is used for the low range.
H. S. P. (High Stiffness Polyolefine) is used for the diaphragm. It is a high-polymer material with high rigidity and moderate internal loss. The sound propagation speed is approximately 10,000m/sec, which is sufficient quality as a diaphragm. By using this material for curved cone, the expressive power of music is improved.
The magnetic circuit uses a strontium ferrite magnet with a magnetic flux density of 9,000 gauss and a voice coil with a large diameter of 65 mm φ.
A die-cast frame is used for the frame, and an acoustic form with an R on the frame part attached to the front baffle is used.

The 12 cm balance drive type unit is used for the middle range.
It uses a vibrating plate with the same H. S. P. curve as the woofer, and uses a strontium ferrite magnet with a magnetic flux density of 13,000 gauss and a voice coil with a large diameter of 50 mm φ for the magnetic circuit.
The frame uses an acoustic form similar to the woofer.

A 2.5 cm dome-shaped unit is used for the high range.
The diaphragm uses fine ceramics made of polycrystalline alumina, which has excellent properties such as high rigidity.
The magnetic circuit employs a cooperative magnetic circuit using a strontium ferrite magnet with a magnetic flux density of 18,000 Gauss.

The network is distributed so that interference between circuits and parts is eliminated, and the influence of static and dynamic magnetic fields from the speaker unit is minimized.
In addition, by making the electrical loop as small as possible and using a concentrated earth, signal interference between each unit is greatly reduced.
Each part is made from carefully selected parts, such as a European metallized polypropylene film capacitor and a 1.5 mm φ Woofer coil.

The enclosure is made of high-density perticboard, a conifer material with a beautiful sound. The 40 mm thick baffle and base plate are strong, and the other parts are tuned to reflect the fundamental chord.
The baffle surface is curved with a large taper to suppress the diffraction phenomenon of sound, reduce the peak and dip of the frequency characteristics, and improve the directional characteristics to realize a good spread feeling.
