TC-K7II
Commentary

This stereo cassette deck was developed by taking advantage of Sony's know-how and the latest electronics technology.
There were 2 types, metallic color TC-K7BII and silver type TC-K7II.

We have adopted a green motor for the capstan. This motor is based on the well-known FG-type frequency motor and has been thoroughly examined, including the manufacturing method. In particular, it has improved durability, noise, and rotational unevenness.
Together with the use of a 90 mm diameter flywheel that ensures dynamic balance, the stability and durability of tape running are improved.

Since a logic circuit using a dedicated IC is adopted, it can skip STOP from any position and move to the next operation.
Since excessive tension is not applied, the tape will not be damaged.

An F & F head is used for the recording / reproducing head, and the direct coupling directly connected to the reproducing amplifier prevents the influence of elements such as capacitors on sound quality.
This amplifier also uses a low-noise transistor developed in-house to reduce noise level fluctuations caused by changes in the impedance of the input signal source, thereby achieving high gain.

Equipped with a 3-stage peak level indicator for quick response to pulsed signals that cannot be indicated by the VU meter during recording.
The indicator indicates a precise peak in three steps of 0 / + 4 / + 8.

As a noise reduction system, Dolby NR is installed.
In Dolby NR, the high-frequency fine level is emphasized during recording, and the high-frequency level is lowered during playback to return to the original level, thereby reducing noise by the amount of emphasis and improving the dynamic range.

The Memory Stop / Play function is available for recording, playback and repeated playback.

In order to draw out the characteristics of the tape to be used, it is equipped with a 3-stage bias / 3-stage equalizer tape selector.

Equipped with a Rec Mute function. Press the button to record silence and release the button to return to normal recording.
The line monitor and VU meter also work during Rec Mute, so you can check the recording timing.

An MPX filter is installed to prevent malfunction of the Dolby NR circuit due to 19 kHz pilot signal during FM air check.

During playback, if you hold down the FWD button while pressing the REC button, recording starts immediately and you can follow up.

You can mix line and microphone inputs.

It has a front-line-in jack that takes priority over the rear panel input.

Lineout headphone Equipped with independent volume.

Equipped with Sony Limiter.

Equipped with auto shut-off mechanism.

By using the separately sold program timer, continuous absence recording and alarm clock playback are possible.

Separately sold wired remote control allows remote operation.
