Commentary
3-head, 1-motor stereo tape recorder.
Equipped with Sony Super Low-noise High Output (SLH) tape selector switch that brings out the performance of tape.
In order to achieve low noise and low distortion of the preamplifier, we use high-gain silicon transistors that are carefully selected from audio transistors and have excellent high-frequency characteristics with very little noise.
The erasing, recording, and playback heads are arranged independently so that the sound being recorded by the recording head can be immediately played back by the next playback head to check the recording status.
In addition, a monitor changeover switch is installed so that the source before recording and the playback sound can be switched and compared.
A newly developed anti-vibration type is adopted for the motor and vibration and noise from the mechanism itself are suppressed.
In addition, Sony's patented "Escalation Drive" mechanism lowers the pinch roller at STOP, allowing one touch loading without damaging the tape.
Equipped with Sony's unique anti-vibration roller, it absorbs the subtle vibration of the tape while it is running in the head housing.
As a result, modulation noise, which causes high sound cloudiness and stains, is eliminated, SN is improved and resolution is improved.
