A tape deck developed for enjoying recording and re-recording of tapes with electronic storage, modular type and separate type stereo.

The Sony tape deck is an early one that omits the speakers and power amplifiers that were found in traditional tape recorders.

To simplify tape loading, Sony's unique "Escalation Drive" mechanism allows the pinch roller to move up and down so that the tape can be loaded with one touch without getting caught.

A new type of anti-vibration motor is used.

Ultra-precision 2 micron head is adopted for the head.
The amplifier circuit is an all-silicon transistor configuration using silicon transistors for Hi-Fi.

You can connect headphones and a microphone.

Monaural recording is available.

Equipped with an automatic stop device that stops automatically when the tape is finished.

Equipped with a counter.

Equipped with a stereo level meter.

There was a dust protector sold separately.
