Commentary

The component-style cassette deck was released as Sony's first upright see-through deck series.

The only difference from TC-2350SD is the presence or absence of Dolby NR.

The mechanism part adopts an upright perspective type, and the cassette is vertically upright when the cassette is inserted.
This makes it easier to see what is written on the label of the cassette, to easily clean and demagnetize the head, and to see how much tape is left behind by the see-through light behind the cassette.

The head part uses an F & F (ferrite & ferrite) head.
This F & F head uses ferrite in both the core and guard sections and is fused and welded with glass of the same hardness. This prevents the head from becoming unbalanced and the gap edge from collapsing and prevents dust from adhering to it.

The tape drive mechanism uses a DC servo motor with a frequency generator.
Since the motor rotates smoothly and the speed is controlled by servo, it is not affected by the power supply frequency, does not need to switch between 50 Hz and 60 Hz, and maintains constant rotation even when the power supply voltage changes.

Equipped with a timer standby switch, you can record your absence or play an alarm clock by combining it with an optional timer.
During timer standby, the pinch roller is separated from the capstan so that no burden is placed on the mechanism.

Equipped with a 3-step switching type tape selector with independent bias and equalizer.

A limiter recording method developed by Sony is installed to prevent distortion caused by unexpected excessive input.
If the limiter switch is turned ON after manual level adjustment, the correct input will be recorded as manual recording, and the limiter circuit will operate only when an unexpected large input is entered.
This feature can also be turned off.

Equipped with a 3-digit display tape counter.

Equipped with a level meter with lighting.

Equipped with a tape remaining light, you can check the remaining condition of the tape by illuminating the cassette tape from the back.

Equipped with an auto shut-off mechanism, the operation button, head part and pinch roller return to the stop position and release the mechanism when the tape finishes winding in any state of recording, playback, fast forward and rewind.
This prevents unnecessary stress on the mechanism and tape.
