Commentary
A magnedisk servo direct drive player system that employs a brush and slotless motor.
The motor that drives the turntable is equipped with a brush and slotless motor.
This DC motor employs a slotless magnetic circuit without slots that cause torque unevenness, and is realized by technologies such as a circular core, a trapezoidal wave magnetized magnet ring, and a saturable inductor.
This allows for smooth and quiet rotation without cogging, as well as increased durability due to the simple structure itself.
The detection section of the servo motor uses Sony's unique magnesium-disk servo system.
This system is based on the technology of the Sony Magne-scale precision measuring instrument. It utilizes the technology to measure objects of the micron unit or less. It magnetizes the detection signal of 512 waves over a wide range around the periphery of the turntable and detects the average value with the 8-tooth multi-gap head. This improves servo detection accuracy.
Equipped with independent pitch control for each of 2 speeds of 33 1/3 and 45 rpm.
The cartridge is equipped with VL15G.
The tone arm uses a static balance type tone arm.
A precision pivot bearing is used for the bearing part to increase the density, and the support part is supported by a damper to make it resistant to vibration.
It is also equipped with an inside force canceler that cancels the inside force according to the performance point of the record.
A special insulator with high vibration absorption rate is used for the leg part of the player case.
Also equipped with a height adjustment mechanism.
