Commentary
This is a servomatic turntable system incorporating a semi-automatic mechanism that is the first application of Sony's original SMD, inheriting the performance of the TTS-3000 rumless turntable.
An ultra-low-speed DC servo motor is used as the power source.
As a result, vibration of the power supply frequency (50 or 60 Hz) and its multiple, which cannot be avoided with an AC motor, does not occur, and vibration and noise can be reduced because the rotation can be lowered as much as possible.
Since the rotation is controlled by servo control, there is no rotational unevenness, and constant speed stability is not lost due to external factors such as load factors such as load. Various excellent effects are exhibited.
SMD (Sony Magneto Diode), a diode that senses magnetism sharply, is used for the auto-return detection part. Pure electric detection allows smooth operation without applying lateral pressure to the needle tip.
In addition, a push-button type pure electric auto-cut mechanism is adopted.
Speed switching and speed adjustment can all be done electrically. The mechanism is simple and the design has excellent stability and durability.
A large reflective strobe with a turntable and integrated cast is attached, and rotation speed can be checked accurately.
The motor and turntable are driven by a belt.
An IM type is used for the cartridge, and the needle comes with a 0.5 mil diamond needle with excellent follow-up and regenerative capability.
Uses a static balance arm with an inside force cancellation device.
Needle pressure is 0 ~ 3g with 0.5g scale.
Since it can be played with the arm lifter by silicon oil brake, there is no worry of damaging needle tip and cartridge.
