MDS-S37
Commentary

A 280 mm wide MD deck equipped with wide bit stream technology.

The wide bit stream technology uses the newly developed digital processing LSI for ATRAC as a key device to process digital data signals to the A/D converter, sampling rate converter, and D/A converter with over 16-bit accuracy, improving the sound quality of the Mini Disc.
This greatly improves the processing accuracy of small-level signals and realizes recording and playback with a wide dynamic range.

Equipped with an 18-bit sampling rate converter, each sampling frequency of 32 khz or 48 khz is automatically converted to 44.1 khz.

It is equipped with a Music Sync Recording function. Simply by pressing the Music Sync button on the remote control and starting playback of the connected CD player or cassette deck, recording starts automatically upon detecting the input of a music signal. Recording also stops when playback ends.

It is equipped with a time machine recording function, and if you press the multi-jog dial in the recording pause state, the sound recorded up to 2 seconds before is recorded on the disc.

During normal recording, you can choose from three recording methods : automatically find and record the unrecorded portion, record from the beginning of the song you want to delete, or record from the middle of any song.

With the built-in TOC EDIT function, you can join, split, and move songs even after recording them, and with the built-in UNDO function, which lets you cancel the last edit operation, return to the original state, and redo it.
Also, DIVIDE and COMBINE have a rehearsal function that allows you to check edit points. With DIVIDE, you can fine-tune edit points in a range of up to -128 to + 127 steps (one step is approximately 0.06 seconds).

The MDS-S37 has a title function that allows you to enter up to 1,700 characters for each disc. The MDS-S37 supports katakana characters as well as alphanumeric characters and symbols.
In addition to the wireless remote control and multi-jog dial, the remote commander (sold separately) allows direct input as if it were a word processor.

Monaural recording and playback is possible for up to 148 minutes (when using MDW-74A).

It is equipped with a smart space function that automatically adjusts the interval between songs to approximately 3 seconds during digital recording.

Equipped with performance modes such as shuffle, program, program and repeat.

Equipped with disk in and auto power.

Beep function for audible confirmation of button operation (can be on / off)

SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) allows only one generation of digital recording, and no more than two generations of digital recording.
